Development leaders in senior roles face enormous pressures and stress. We strive to meet aspirational goals, grapple with factors outside of our control, and manage up to executive leadership that often lacks understanding of the science and art of development. Along the way we manage and care for our staff, board members, donors, prospects, and volunteers.  Sometimes we feel we’ve given everything we have and it’s time to leave, but we’re unsure how to navigate the transition. Other times, we’re “faux-fired.” This is when conditions make it impossible for us to function effectively, so we resign, essentially ousting ourselves.

This evening’s program is an opportunity for candid, confidential conversations about how we face the challenges of our roles while maintaining our self-worth and sense of agency. We’ll cover tools you can use to manage the emotional labor of your role, and steps you can take if you’re considering a job transition. We’ll find solidarity in recognizing that we often share similar experiences and struggles, and in celebrating how, despite these difficulties, we’re supporting amazing causes that transform lives around the globe.

Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served!
